I went to see the show on Saturday, and i was compleatly blown away! The whole cast were amazing, and i thought Alex Jennings did particulaly well. Forget Jonathan and Martine, id rather go and see Joanna and Alex anyday! They were fabulous!

Joanna was better than Martine for the posh Eliza, where as Martine, after Eastenders, was brilliant at Cockney. Joanna's timing during the Ascot scene had me in stiches!!!
I was very surprised with Peter Prentice's performance. I though that he wouldnt be that good, but On the Street Where You Live was sung beutifully! Also, Dennis was on holiday, so we had David Burrows. I found him very good, and he played the role perfectly!

The cast all came out at the end and signed my programme. I had a chat with them and they were all sooooooooooooo nice!!!

I'm going to try to keep an open mind and go to see Alex, but not for a long time as I'm still savouring Jon's performance, and like you, Lucy. I find it hard to see how anyone can improve on what he did.  I read a recent review which praised Alex's performance but said that his songs need a bit more work.

I agree that Jon is a genius but I'm still nt going to rush out to see Alex, mainly cause I can't afford to but as I've said before he may be wonderful but for me Pryce was my Higgins, he performed it as I thought Higgins should be performed and I don't think I could happily enjoy another's interpretation. I know that's narrow minded but I love Henry Higgins!

Hello,

I went to see the show a month ago. I had never seen a musical before. But Wow! I was blown away! I went to see 3 other musicals after that but My Fair Lady was the best. I thought that Jennings' Higgins was great! He was very convincing and natural. Joanna Riding was perfect as Eliza. She could be very dynamic and dramatic. Even Pickering was fun to watch...The whole show was great entertainment! I'd love go back in London to see it again someday.

I was reading in the paper the other day, a review of My Fair Lady, and it comented on how well Alex Jennings has got into the role of Higgins. The paper said how much better he was than when he started at the end of April.
I have read in this forum, a few bad reviews of Alex Jennings, saying how he isnt very good, but there is one thing we all have to remember......Jonathan Pryce is a genius!
Everyone seems to compare Alex with Jonathan, and when you look at it, Alex plays Higgins completly different to Jonathan. Yes, Jonathan was better as Higgins, but i think that Alex has settled into his role perfectly, and gives the crowd a lot for there money!
Iam going to see the show next Saturday, and i think that Alex deserves alot of credit for putting so much hard work into the role.
Please forward your views.
