Dilys Laye recently played Mrs Medlock in the RSC's production of The Secret Garden which opened at Stratford-upon-Avon and transferred to the Aldwych Theatre. Other RSC work includes: Twelfth Night, The Bewitched, Romeo and Juliet, The Art of Success, Macbeth, The Balcony, The Wizard of Oz and Show Boat. Extensive work in London and around the country includes: The White Devil, Single Spied, Gone to L.A., The Important of Being Earnest, Dreaming, Into The Woods, Racing Demon, The Cherry Orchard, Nine, Oklahoma!, Fiddler on the Roof, Father's Day, Happy Days, The Pirates of Penzance, Sweeney Todd, The Boy Friend, Beethoven's Tenth, The Devil Himself, Frontiers of Farce, The Theory and Practice of Belly Dancing and 42nd Street. Early West End appearances include: And So to Bed, Intimacy at 8:30, For Amusement Only, High Spirits, Make Me an Offer, The Tunnel of Love and Say Who You Are. On television Dilys has appeared in Mister Charity, Holby City, Midsomer Murders, Coronation Street, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Merlin, East Enders, Hard Times, The Spirit of Man, Bye Bye Columbus, Campion, Water on the Moon, Chintz and Morecambe and Wise. She has also appeared in the following films: Dog Eat Dog, Alice in Wonderland, Voices from a Locked Room, Carry on Doctor, Carry on Spying, Carry on Cruising, Carry on Camping, Doctor at Large, Petticoat Pirates, Idle on Parade, The Countess of Hong Kong, Please Turn Over and the famous St. Trinian's films.
